I think this is very generous of our government to present us with another hour, free of charge.
Whoever says that Labour is not kind?

I'm giving this a bit of thought now about what I can now do with another free, untaxed hour.

Turn your heating off for an hour and spend nothing, otherwise the buggers will still nick a few pennies tax off you.

Another hour in bed ..... lovely.
You got me going then for a minute ........ I thought it was this weekend.

Mups

I will have 9 clocks + my watch, + my car clock to do!
No point moaning,  it's my own fault  I have so many I suppose.
Thanks for the reminder, Ashy.

Not today, Sunday!  The last Sunday of October, the 25th.

Would that be 7th November in the pre-Gregorian calendar?

The Julian calendar had got ahead of the solar date so they took 11 days off it to get it in sync and put in leap years to keep it that way when they made the Gregorian calendar.

If they'd been doing the clocks back on last Sunday in October with the Julian calendar that would be earlier than it should be by current reckoning

My head's spinning, depending on which calendar one wants to use as the datum (no pun intended) point 😉😬

And to think ...if your heads already spinning ... that the New Year used to be the end of March, not December ..... the taxman is about the only institution left following the old New Year.

Dextrous63

Why do they wait until the 6th April?  Why not the start of the month?  After all, that'd be prosaically appropriate 😬😬

 Something else to consider...

September 9th month
October.      10th
November.  11th
December.  12th

7 8 9 10 from Latin with of course a few emperors and gods represented.
