I expect few have heard of him .

He's the 76 year pensioner arrested in September at an anti-immigration protest for parading  in a niqab. The cops accused him of using the Islamic veil to conceal his identity.
 Not so, he replied: I identify as a transgender student of Islam ( or words to that effect ) 

He appeared at Portsmouth magistrates' court yesterday. 
In the same niqab outfit and carrying a handbag 

It is so delightfully an eccentric Englishman at his best .

The judge has said that before the next hearing next year...

Mr Apted (the judge) said that Miller's defence representatives must produce a report confirming the defendant's case that "a male person who is considering moving to Islam can wear a burka in public in order to better understand the religion and enable that person to make an informed decision about observing that religion".

One would have thought that they have to do no such thing, and that it's up to the prosecution to provide a report to counter his argument since he remains innocent until determined guilty.

I agree .... and what's more he shouldn't have to justify what he chooses to wear anyway. 
Unless of course, it is considered obscene or offensive and then I'm sure a great many other people in the UK will be guilty tooof parading in public in one..
He should have just claimed he was  on a bet to wear fancy dress or something.

But I like his style

They just need a self declared expert on Islamic conversions to write that report. I imagine volunteers won't be hard to find.

Pity that the judge bottled it and didn't just dismiss the whole thing as no case to answer.
