My heating is on this morning...
My winter duvet will go on tonight..
  It is officially (winter)..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

My heating has come on in the mornings for the last 2 or 3 days,  so it must have been chilly overnight.
Still haven't changed the duvet,  but I have a feeling it won't be long now.
What tog is your winter duvet?  Mine is 13.

I'm sure you can both change the timing of your heating.

Ours is set to come on between 7am and 11pm, and reach 20 degrees.  If it's chilly, I just change the temperature to 22 degrees; a simple turn of the knob!  (The next day it reverts to the previous setting, though).

Yes, that is what I do JBR.
If it is chilly, mine is set to come on at 7.30 am,  but only for an hour or so,  just so its nice and warm when I first get up.
Then it  is set to come back on again  at 5 pm until bedtime.
But I can over ride these setting anytime I choose if I am cold though.

I don't have mine on timer.. I just switch it on when needed.. It is set at 22deg..

It'll go on when it gets down to about 16. I don't like it too warm and haven't used a duvet for years.

Blimey,  it must be those lambs wool vests and draws you wear then, Mort.

Wire wool vests, from what I've heard Mups.

I think she got fed up with Mr. M.  using her as a brillo pad,  so changed to lambs wool last winter.

Heating has been on in the mornings especially. Our bathroom is the coldest room in our house!  I use a fairly light duvet all year, but the patchwork quilt, made by my friend, is back on. The next change of bedding will be to brushed cotton. Or flannelette as we used to call it!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Milder this year than last. My heating schedule is set but it only comes on for short periods first thing and again some days at teatime when it is programmed to be a tad warmer for the evening. Just as well as  thing the unit price is a fair bit more this year. I'm glad I took the fix offered. Increase of 25% to 30% year on year forecast according to AI. Aren't we lucky we now have  our Net Zero policies bringing us all this cheap renewable energy - what would it cost if we didn't

Yes, although ours is usually set at 20 degrees (or 22), once the room the controller is in reaches that temperature it turns off, of course.  The dining room next door, which we rarely use, is usually noticeably cooler, but then I suppose that's to be expected as it only has one working radiator which is much smaller than the one in our living room.

I've seen it said that thermostatic radiator valves remove the need to balance a system but situations can easily arise where there is an area that just doesn't get enough unless the system is balanced so I've always tweaked mine.

There is a big radiator in my hall but I don't heat the hall now since prices went so high so that is turned off and unused bedrooms turned well down.
