A man got into the Tiger enclosure at a Zoo hear Doncaster today.
He was then attacked,  and air lifted to hospital, where he died.

I can only think perhaps he was deeply depressed, and wanted to end it maybe?
Awful, isn't it.

That is a horrible way to go.

Certainly he must have been disturbed.
There's footage online showing him sitting in the enclosure and pointing and wagging his finger at the tiger when it paws him . At first you can tell the tiger's thinking 'who the hell are you' and is more curious than aggresive.
Then clearly it must have mauled him.

Suppose he could have been off his face with drugs and thought that, er, well, god only knows what he might have been thinking.

My daughter lives nearby, often walks there.  It seems he may have been autistic.  The enclosures are pretty safe, it must have taken some effort to get in.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

If that were the case,  perhaps he just liked the Tigers and wanted to pet one.

No doubt we'll hear the truth in due course.

One less idiot in the gene pool

So glad the tiger wasn't hurt nor put down.

Whatever the victim's thought processes were, deepest condolences to his family.

🇬🇧 ALTAI THE TIGER WILL LIVE! 🐅

Yorkshire Wildlife Park has confirmed that Altai is safe and well and WILL NOT BE EUTHANISED!

In its full statement, the park said:

"We would like to thank everyone who has expressed their concern following yesterday's tragic incident.

Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies remain with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly lost his life.

The park will be closed today while the staff team who were deeply affected by events receive specialist support.

Many, many people have contacted us about Altai, the tiger. We can reassure everyone that he is safe and well and will not be euthanised as a result of this incident."

GOOD. ALTAI SHOULD NOT BE PUT DOWN FOR BEING A TIGER.

He is a wild animal, not a pet. His instincts are part of nature, and his life should not be taken simply for behaving like the magnificent predator he is.

I'm so pleased to hear the tiger will not be put down  !

Vlad

The victim was autistic apparently, which does lead to a number of questions.

I agree.    Of course he shouldn't be put down.
After all,  the Tiger didn't bust out of his area and deliberately go looking for a human did he.
It was the other way round.

That would tally with the bit of video footage I saw. He just sat there with the tiger before him with a total disregard of any danger. Not afraid looking  or panicky.

Vlad

It does raise questions about his care givers
