A lot of the criticism and indeed, scepticism , from some quarters is based on how quick Netanyahu appeared with the survivors on camera like a chat show host and gushing over them with avuncular pride. He looked excited enough to pin a Blue Peter badge on them.

Yes I know it was because he was pleased and excessively jubilant but it did seem a tad tacky and rehearsed. But that's Netanyahu for you. He's been taking lessons off Trump. Both of them true skilful media propogandists.

No heroic act will go unpunished, except that the Israeli government is dealing with this and not our shower.

And haven't they dealt with it well ! 
Not only the incredible bravery and action of the passengers but the way their PM openly and immediately shows his support and admiration .
A genuine feeling of warmth pride and relief for his fellow countrymen 
I can't imagine any of our politicians doing the same ( can't imagine hugging any of them ) except perhaps poor Anne Widdecombe who had a more human side .

I've listened to the passenger in that clip, thanks Ashy.  Seems no reason to disbelieve what he witnessed.  It must have been scary for passengers, just glad the plane didn't crash and kill all those aboard.
