Window Cleaners

The old chap over the road from me has lived in his house for about 40 yrs,  and told me he has never cleaned his windows once, not in all that time.

Do you have a window cleaner,  or can you still manage to do your own?
How often do you reckon they need doing,  and what is your recipe for a streak-free finish?

local chap, sometimes accompanied by his wife - twice a month, £16 pounds a time - and I have a lot of glass!

Some local fellas do the window nose months, using the modern method of brush with hose and pumping purified water.  This keeps things at bay.  If there's anything that needs more effort, I'll do it myself .... downstairs is easy, and upstairs I take the double glazed glass out ('cos I'm like that), which gives me the added opportunity of giving the frames and cills a jolly guys scrubbing.

Are you in a bungalow Scrumps?
You surely don't go up ladders to a top floor, do you? 

P.S.  No one has yet said what they find gets the best streak-free finish?

P.P.S.  (I should ask Vlad really,  because I am told he does a lot of streaking).
