I received notification from NHS concerning a hospital appt.

4th Dec .. 3.50
I phoned them to ask if they could make it earlier in the day PLEASE.
 'Sorry clinic is afternoons only' .. End of.. An elderly lady who SOUNDED very important..
Received notification cancelling 4th Dec..
New appt. 11th Dec 4.10.
I phoned appts to ask if they could make it earlier..
A young lady answered the phone.. I told her that I was not too good at night time driving and could they possibly do an earlier time.. even if it meant another date..
'Wait a moment'.. pause
'Would you like Thurs 31st at 9.40 ?'
'Yes.. yes.. yes... You are a star.. thank you'

As simple as that..

Dear oh dear, Scrumps,   I am like you and don't do night driving anymore, so I understand why you wanted it earlier.   Good job you phoned again,  after that first old bat wasn't any help.

The first LADY.. was insistent that ENT was Only afternoon clinic.. She told a 'porkie' just to get rid of me..
How naughty is that..

She second young lady couldn't do enough for me.. She was so lovely..

Or, perhaps the Second Lady made up any old tosh to get rid of you and the appointment won't actually exist or will magically get cancelled beforehand.
