Doctors,  and their 10 min only appointments nowadays.  AND only allowed to discuss one thing,  so you have to start all over again trying to get a second appointment if you have 2 problems!

How can that save them time if they have to see people twice, instead of just once?

Think it goes back to the time when most doctors were men, and trained by men.
Multi-tasking?  P'ah!!

It just annoys me when you have two things you want to know about,  but they will only let you ask one.
Then its back to the beginning and being 20th in the queue on the phone,  or having to fill in one of those stupid Anima request things  - (which was another stupid, man made invention for their  convenience, not the patient's).   Grrr . . . . .

AI, I'm having trouble on various Sites trying to work out what's real and what's not. I find it exasperating and I even got accused of posting an oldish pic of myself and Dageus that Dunc took of being false  :wtf:

All I can do with photos is alter their size so they fit into where I want them. It's put me off ever sharing photos again.

I like looking at your piccies.  Don't stop, as it wouldn't compute.  Error, error.  Code 137"**21

I agree with you 100%,  Scrumps.

Charities used to be grateful for any donation, no matter how small,  but now they state the amount they want  us to give, too.
I think its a ruddy cheek, and is more likely to put people off giving.   I certainly does me, anyway.

A lot of them are also not content with a given amount either,  they try and push you into a direct debit to keep on paying too.

A good friend of mine let one big charity talk her into giving by D/D,  but she came unstuck,  because once they've got you,  they then start bothering you each month to increase your payment.
My friend increased hers once,  but then they kept on at her even more,  so she cancelled it altogether.
It's their own greedy fault if people won't do it anymore.

We've been paying the same amount to BHF for years! Never increased or been asked to IICRC.

Something fairly trivial is annoying me. Cheap, scratchy labels in jumpers.  I've bought two polo necks recently and I've had to cut the brand name labels off because they were really uncomfortable.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Raven

I don't like labels, mostly they're a scratchy pain....as you say. Some of my friends have been label snobs since we were all in our 20s and were working. I don't care if an item is £9 or £90 if I like it then I'll wear it.  :busted: 😬

I wonder if the signup was through chuggers and it is them doing the nagging. If the signup was in a supermarket, shopping arcade, on a town street or at the door it would probably have been chuggers. They get a large percentage of such donations.

I think my friend got caught for d/d  through someone at her door,  but not sure.

I was furious a few years back when some youngsters were door knocking around my Mum's way,  saying

Mum could not see too well,  and her hearing was practically non- existent, and I am not convinced they were even from the RSPCA really,   but even if they were,  it was totally wrong for them to try and make an old lady  like her sign up to a d/d   when it would have been obvious to anyone with half a brain she didn't understand.
