Quote from: Dextrous63 on October 02, 2026, 02:59:09 PMMy sister has got MS and has been in a pretty vegetative state for around 20 years, needing full time care.  Every so often my brother in law has to go through the rigmarole of the NHS and Social Services battling it out to see if they can get out of paying for it and dump it in the other one 🙄

Stressful enough as it is, without those silly buggers sticking their oar in.
I was sent a badly produced financial assessment form which was very intrusive They wanted to know how much money I had, how much did I get from our house sale , money in banks,  building Society's ISAs Bonds and my inside leg measurement. I threw it away

It is all very sad.. It is such an obvious ( illness) that goes ignored.. without the much needed help .. Help and care is needed 24 hrs.. They can not be left..
Meanwhile the persons / loved ones who are caring have to suffer the pain of ( losing) a loved one..
Yet a person with a bad back..!!!!!... Gets a motor..and all the trimmings.. Because they know how to work the system..
Dementia/Alzheimer's is so bloody hard for the career..
And so bloody obvious how hard it is for the career the system don't even SEE it..
Andy Burnham's eyes have only just seen it because his father suffered it.. Yet it has been there for many, many years.
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I should think it's one of the worst and most painful for all concerned. I hope to drop dead from a heart attack.

Don't mean to be miserable.

What annoys me?

A few weeks ago,  an important legal letter I was expecting was delivered to the wrong address.
Luckily the lady brought it round to me,   unopened.

Today I was expecting a parcel,   and asked for it to be left in my porch.
When I got home,  there was a parcel in my porch,   BUT  it was not mine!
It had a man's name on it, and the door number was wrong too.

I found the correct house,  over the road and a few doors further along,  and took it over to them.
No one was in,  so I tucked it in the corner of his porch with another parcel that had been left for them.

As I was about to walk away, I had a strange feeling telling me to look at the address on his other parcel and guess what . . . . .  It was mine!!!
So the idiot Royal Mail man   (not my usual chap),  had taken my parcel over the road,  and left the that man's parcel at my house!

That is what has annoyed me today.

Ashy

Something that annoys me is this tendency to refer to human excrement as "poo". Even the NHS writes it in their leaflets. Poo. I ask you how babyish can they get? It drives me nuttier than squirrel er... poo.

Everyone should know that POO is what you shit in in church.

My phone has annoyed me. The major use it gets apart from Whatsapp text and phone use is listening to audiobooks. Some weeks ago it started stopping the audiobook player for no obvious reason and the only way to start it was to take the phone out of my pocked and most of the time it would just restart. Hours trawling settings then again AI guided showed nothing. AI suggested the case could be worn and giving some sort of false singal as it does use magnets to show it's closed (I use a fold case that holds cards and notes so I don't need a wallet). The case was tatty so I got a new one. At first I thought it was fixed but soon realised it wasn't.

I'm pretty sure this started after an update as there have been several recently. I have now figured exactly what causes the stop. There are bugs out there and another bloody marathon session with AI when it suggested clearing system cache and none of the instructions got me to the correct system menu to do that. It's a series of keypresses and actions that have been fiddled with recently and are now apparently very time critical on releasing the power button, Too critical for me and I decided to just get a different phone. This one will go into storage until the next grand child buggers a mobile. I doubt that will be long.

My daughter has two cavapoos.  They are the loveliest natured dogs, and they don't shed!

K, updates on phones are the devil's work.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖
