Being late! Especially for a parade, a sin on par with incest, child abuse and Morris Dancing

I used to stand on the parade ground, shiny boots, big hat, pace stick and standing at ease. Troop would stand opposite, shuffling they knew the shit was about to hit the fan big time...I wait..the shuffling stops...I come to attention...I bring them to attention and I speak..." ladies...gentlemen...you are late...you are in your own time now...I am in no hurry...I have a salad in the fridge at home and my wife is ugly..let's do some drill"

Royal Mail.
Tracking 10:40 to 14:40 stayed in. Arrived about 15:30.

If it was Amazon they'd have left it on the step. RM don't do that. I do have a parcel box but it would have been too long for that.

GrannyMac

We had a Royal Mail delivery today. between 10.00-14.00. Came at 13.55!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

What i didn't mention was the times I gave came from their email. When it got near time up I rechecked the tracking and it had been changed
to 1430 to 1930 and was coming from the Milton Keynes centre. I think they'd taken it there in error. The original times are what they always give for the local centre. I was lucky it wasn't even later.

Okay  :waiting:... I'm going to have a gripe.
GP's ...  they never get my prescription done right.

There, moan over. Kettles on and jaffa cakes to the rescue.

What do you mean, Morty?
They don't do it in time,  or that they put the wrong things on it,  or miss things off altogether?

Drivers who cut corners at junctions, causing one to stop early and wait to pull forward.  Especially when the driver then gives you a look as though you're the one at fault.

It seems that when you have cancer you are a brave battler against the disease, but when you have Alzheimer's you are an old fart. That's how people see you or the person you care for

So true..

Sadly that's the nature of how people tend to perceive mental disorders (psychological or psychiatric or anything brain related).

I have cyclical depressions, in the same way that others might get an equally debilitating back ache.  I take antidepressants in the same way that people take painkillers.

It's just another bodily malfunction.

I find it disgraceful that the NHS don't class dementia as an illness either and won't fund the care properly.

Vlad,  there is a lot of info here,  including details of an Alzheimer's forum even.

My sister has got MS and has been in a pretty vegetative state for around 20 years, needing full time care.  Every so often my brother in law has to go through the rigmarole of the NHS and Social Services battling it out to see if they can get out of paying for it and dump it in the other one 🙄

Stressful enough as it is, without those silly buggers sticking their oar in.
