Saving Sessions

It requires a smart meter. Maybe you don't have them.

Nah,  I don't have one of those either. 

I just read  gas/electric meters once a month and send the readings in to Octopus, and they bill me same day usually. 
 I always make sure there is enough in the account for them to just take it.

I called Octopus today 
Got a real person albeit heavily accented none English .
She had never heard of saving sessions .
Said I would have to contact online .
I said I had done that already now I'm asking you .
She looked it up and was no wiser 
As I persisted she said that octopus only sends emails in certain areas of the country .
And as I hadn't got any there were no savings sessions in my area .
Very unsatisfactory .

That sounds very odd if their own staff had never heard of Savings sessions, Muddy?

And Klondy is in Northamptonshire,  same as me,  yet he says he gets the emails but I don't. 
Surely it couldn't be a scammer, could it?

We're with Scottish Power and get the savings slots through the App, I got an email about a year ago telling me all about it, I had to sign up and choose the slots if I wanted to take advantage of them. I can change the slots every month but I don't as it's fine with what I originally chose. The slots are the same every week though you choose monthly.

With no smart meter you couldn't participate. They know if you have one or not so wouldn't send you emails about them.

They will be grid funded so may be area dependent too.

Plus somebody said you need to opt in which I probably did ages ago before I had the solar setup and have forgotten.

It's all bit gimmicky anyway. Minor reward for a reduction and with only a specific hour free you'd need to be on your toes to fit your jobs in.

The reason I posted about them was the frequency seems high right now which suggests the grid may be struggling and we aren't even in winter yet.
