Saving Sessions

I'm with Octopus and keep getting invites to join "Saving Sessions" usually an hour between 6pm and 7pm where I can get a small reward for using less than normal electricity over that hour.

As with my system and tariff the only time I use grid energy betweeb 2am and 5am with the rest covered by solar or the battery I can't use less than none but I join anyway to see whyat their system makes of it.


I'm guessing others on Octopus get these emails too. What bothers me is that the system is in place at all. The grid must be getting worried and it isn't even winter yet.

Yep, we get those too.  Not really sure why they bother as we only ever use what energy we need anyway.

I'm with Scottish Power and get reduced rates on Sunday and Saturday when I get to choose the hours.  I don't think it makes a lot of difference to my bill, but the few coppers are better in my pocket than theirs.

I'm with Octopus too,  I paid them today actually,   but I don't recall seeing anything about any 'saving sessions'?
Perhaps I'd better take more notice.

No,  I don't use a phone app,  Dex.

In fact,  I only use my phone for calls, and texts, and sometimes to take a photo,  and that's about it.
I also always try not to give companies my mobile number,  as my mobile is for me and my friends,  not for big companies to pester me.

If you're not tech savvy, then probably wisest not to get embroiled with it.

I watch YouTube clips of scambaiting, and a lot of people get scammed because they don't really have enough knowledge to know when someone is sending and talking a whole load of old tosh.
