Scrumpy

I found a piece of metal.
I'v no clue what it's for.
I've put it in a plastic box
Inside the kitchen drawer.
For a moment I was thinking
I should throw it in the bin
But it might be part of something
That won't work without it in.
So I'll keep it in my kitchen
prob'ly til the day I die.
Chances are, I'll never find out
what it does or why,
but if I need it ,it'll be here,
Though the negative is this.
Because I put it safe,
I will have no clue where it is.
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Use Google lens on your smart phone. Get a picture and it will try to tell you what it is.

I've got a few of those in my kitchen drawer

I think everyone probably does but few deliberately saved them. They just sort of appear. At least mine do. Like Scrumpy though few just put them in the bin.

I have bits of wood in an old bucket in the shed some have paint on the end, som have nails in them, I know that the moment I throw them away I am going to need them so I will keep them...just in case...

A man after my own heart.  Yes, I'd be thinking about Bonfire Night too.
