Is it still fit for purpose ?

We know that it has a very left wing bias.

But apart from that is it entertaining ?

Is it worth the licence fee ?

klondike

Well clearly I don't think so as I don't buy one.

The BBC are allowed to control the narrative in this country, with no official censure or control.
They got away with their lies about Gaza, ( Jeremy Bowen ) .
They get away with just about anything that doesn't suit their woke agenda .
No wonder people are jumping off the licence bandwagon .

Well worth the licence fee, brilliant organisation respected worldwide.
Worth it just for the arts alone...👏

We don't watch much TV nowadays.  But the BBC has a small number of things on it that we enjoy, so seems only fair that we pay the fee.

Don't bother with its news content anymore...other sources are available.

never take any BBC output except the weather forecast and I can get that elsewhere. I say make it a subscription service and abolish the licence.

I agree.  By all means let it get income via ads.  After all, they spend enough time and money telling us how great they are via their own navel gazing ads.  If people want to opt out of ads, then give them an option to do so.  We, on occasion, pay a few quid for eg channel 4 to avoid ads, and cancel the subscription afterwards.

I don't miss the BBC at all and haven't since July 2020
