We have a hosepipe down here in Wiltshire ban from midnight tonight .
There hasn't been a hosepipe ban in Wiltshire for 50 years .
Wiltshire is proud of its record and sorry to have to impose it .
I have only been watering my pots and a few privileged plants anyway .
This has attracted the attention of Mr Mole who is now digging away under the pots that are in the flower bed ( the ground was so hard I didn't like to plant them out ) the pots now look like they have been on a boozy night out all at drunken angles .
Underneath the tunnels are quite visible .
Still moles have to live too .

I suppose if you have been watering there Muddy,  it maybe the only softer bit of soil he can excavate with his little feet.   Might be the only place he can find a few worms too.

We've had a hosepipe ban for a little while now.   I think lots of places have now.
I imagine we've all had enough of this drought now,  us,  and  the animals.   It's gone on too long.

We don't have a hose pipe ban here.. But to water the plants in the garden, long enough for them to get any benefit, would send my bill sky high..
No rain here for at least 60 days..
I save most water in a washing up bowl in the sink.. I use this to water the four pots that are on my decking.. I do not use dishwasher..at the moment..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Same here Scrumps.  I've got a bucket outside the back door that I tip used water into,  and then use it for certain plants and roses.
My evergreens, like the Camelias and Rhododendrons are not doing well this year though,  and they need to be making the buds for next years flowering.  They don't do well on tap water.

Talking of tap water,  my Carnivorous plants can't have tap water  either.  They are 'bog plants'  and can only survive with rain water, so its been both difficult and expensive to keep them alive this year.
I have been buying gallons of that Deionised water from garages this year as that is about the only substitute they can get by on.
This is one of my Trumpet Pitchers,  but I've got quite a few more as well.

I leave the water in the bowl for a while.. Very little washing up..seeing as I am a one person user..
No electric used to run dishwasher.. plus water used on plants..
Can't do that with water from dishwasher..
killing two birds with one stone..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..
