Quote from: muddy on Yesterday at 10:58:59 AMAndy Burnham has asked for ' a moment of reflection ' as he issues a statement on Jason Arday .
I wonder why he didn't ask for one for Anne Widdecombe  whose funeral was a few days ago .
Or maybe he should reflect on the grief of Andrew Harpers mother and family upon who his government  is about to inflict more pain as they see his smirking killers walk free.

Hardly surprising, Arday ticked a lot of boxes in the woke agenda.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Its because the woke movement choose identity over merit .
The fact he was a black  his credentials were ( seemingly ) not important .
I don't understand it myself surely you have to have great credentials to be come a professor at Cambridge university ?

There's a gofundme that has topped £40k for his family if anybody fancies donating.

muddy

He was a well paid Cambridge professor why would he need a gofundme fund ?
It has however reached 130k apparently.

There appears to be two sides to this sad story .

One he was hounded by the racist press .

Two he was fraud and a fantasist who made up all the stuff about his life and plagiarised his articles etc

.
I had also never heard of the man until a week or so ago .

Nor had many

Doubtless both are true (I doubt racism came into it although it is possible). The version you read depends where you read it. I imagine there is no doubt that he made up plenty of stuff and somebody spotted some of it which if the stories are true, which I imagine they must be, was hardly difficult. Then the digging started.
