Visiting dog

Tomorrow I have my son' dog coming to stay while they are on holidays.
He is very old about 15 or more and has a lot of distressing ailments .
He is also deaf and doesn't see very well .
He is a darling old fellow and we all love him dearly .
But we had a serious talk about what will happen if the worst happens .
He is coming to the end of his life and the vets can do no more for him 
I would rather he did not die on my watch .
However he still enjoys his dinner ! 
Usually I look after in his own home but he can no longer get up the stairs and cries now if he sleeps alone downstairs . So he comes to us ( we live in a bungalow ) so hopefully he will be OK 
It's comes to us all .☹️.

It is so very sad when you see them declining like that, isn't it.   Poor old fella.  What sort is he?

My Liffey has things going wrong with her now too,  she's 14 & half.  Cataracts in both eyes, hearing not good, stiff joints etc.
It does worry me.  I really struggle with facing the inevitable.

Will he remember his way around your place still, Muddy,  as partially sighted dogs are much the same as partially sighted people aren't they,  and they are ok as long as you don't move things about,  they need familiarity round them.
How long will he be staying with you for?

I know its easy to say,  but try not to worry.   I am sure the old fella knows he's loved, and your  son knows you will do your best too.
