Measuring for a new Bra

I didn't know anything about this until I read the Sunday papers,  but apparently M&S had  banned their staff from using a tape measure for measuring ladies for a new bra sizes more accurately.   
So from then on,  staff  could only help women with  'measurements taken by eye.'     (I don't see how that can work).
Being measured had never bothered me in the past,  but it seems now its all about  'Trans Rights!'   

The M&S ban is supposed to have come about because in August last year a mother had complained about a Trans woman member of staff  had offered to help the ladies 14 yr old daughter in the lingerie section of a store, where they were hoping to have a bra fitting.

Then on 'X'  author J.K. Rowling (of Harry Potter fame)  is supposed to have kicked up and said it was wrong that the shop had  'prioritised the wishes of men'  despite the earlier Court ruling on gender which means changing rooms must be segregated on the basis of biological sex.   As a result of this,  trans women should not  enter female spaces.
Rowling wrote -  "It's time for women to vote with their wallets.  If stores like M&S continue to flout the Supreme Court ruling on women only spaces, prioritising the wishes of men who want to undress near - or help fit bras on - teenage girls,  a boycott seems appropriate."

It seems that after all the 'to do',  M&S then banned the tape measuring part of bra fittings.

Now though,  according to the newspaper,  M&S has reversed the ban again,  and if customers want to be measured,  they can be.

What a carry on ey.   
I would preferred to be measured as all styles are slightly different fits,  so rather than have to try on half a dozen bras to get the size right,  accurate measurements can speed this up no end.

BUT,  and I'm sorry to say this,  but I would not want to be assisted by a trans woman in that department,  I just wouldn't feel comfortable discussing bras and knickers with them, and it would put me right off being assisted by someone with  stubble and lipstick!     Wouldn't it  you?  Or am I being unfair?

How do others feel about this type of thing?
Would you prefer women only in the ladies underwear department,  or don't you mind?
And how would you feel if,  like the first lady in this tale, a trans woman wanted to help your young granddaughter with her first bra?

Thanks Alex.  I am glad it's not just me.

But if customers didn't feel comfortable with trans people in the ladies underwear department,  why on earth did M&S  put them in that department in the first place?  I wonder if maybe they are not allowed to refuse them?
It's a weird old world nowadays, isn't it.

JK Rowling tells it as it is!  I've never been measured for a bra, trial and error for me.  If I was, I would want a woman, in an all woman space to do it.

I'd be worried if a man tried to measure me for a bra. Seriously though, if a shop assistant measures a child she should hold the tape round the back, or let the mother do it if they are together.

This whole scenario is so ludicrous .
It appears the tape measure is at fault not the skewed mentality of a man pretending to be a woman invading the most private spaces of women .
