Expensive vet...

Our lovely Lottie was seen by the vet .. 
She was dehydrated... Passing blood and vomiting..
Kept in overnight.. Blood test.. 
All results were fine.. They suggested it could have been a bug..

  Cost:  1,200..      Dearer than some holidays.. 

I can fully understand why people can not afford to keep pets.. 
I feel for the lonely pensioner who would love to have the company of a pet..
But simply can not afford it..

Every pet owner says the same about vet prices, Scrumps.   
They reckon this is one reason why so many animals are given up,  especially if they are poorly,  its because folks can't afford such crippling veterinary prices.

I believe its about £300 if you are unfortunate enough to need an out of hours consultation,  and that would be PLUS any treatment or medication!

Gertie had some teeth out on Wednesday, and that set me back  £604 in the end.   It would have been an extra £99 if I'd wanted an X-Ray  done as well.
I have paid it,  but I will have to forsake something else I wanted to do now.

Horse owners must pay a fortune if they can't get the animal to the surgery like smaller pets,  so they have to pay call-out charges as well,  on top of any treatment.

I do hope Lottie recovers soon.  Give her a cuddle from me.

Duncan has always said owning horses is like sitting in the corner, tearing up Twenty Pound Notes.

When Dageus had to be put to sleep I refused to take him into the surgery, I wanted him comfy on his blanket, on the couch with me beside him. It was £150 callout only then, it will be more now.
