Does anyone get any joy out of the M and S Sparks thingy ?
I don't go to M and S very often .
God knows who their buyers are because I think their stuff is awful now .
The food is good but expensive .
Anyhow they used to have a card but now you must go online to see if you have any offers .
Give us a break
What with their new do it yourself tills .
I am fed up of doing stuff myself  I want a shop assistant .
I don't like their new uniform either they look like customers .

Muddy,  I hardly ever use my Sparks card anymore.
When I put my Ocado order in each week,  I can get M&S food delivered with my order if I want.   M&S don't seem to have their own delivery vans but Ocado deliver for them.
However,  because I am not buying directly in an M&S shop, and going through their tills,  they won't let me use my Sparks card.

I also think their clothes have been rubbish for a long time now.   Everything made in Bangladesh,  poor quality materials, and the sizing is nothing like it says on the label.   Even one of the ladies on the till agreed with me.

I was looking for some new trousers a little while back,  and all they'd got were loads of denims,  or those hugely wide leg trousers you could get about 6 people's legs into!   They would look ridiculous on me.

Years ago,  they seemed to cater more for older people,  but now its all for 15 yr olds,  there is next to nothing for age groups any more.

They seem to ignoring the fact that the 15 year olds don't have the money and prefer to shop in Next or whatever anyway .

I don't have a M&S card.. I'm not too keen on their clothes..
I do pop into their food store sometimes.. I like their bread..
I much prefer Waitrose.. or even Tesco..

So many M&S shops closing down near us..
I think they have had their day..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Yes,  I have a feeling you're right, Scrumps.

I remember when Woolworths closed down..
What a shock.. We thought they would go on forever..
It is the same for M&S..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Woollies went out with a bang - all at once iir. M&S is more of a whimper. Must be 5 years or more now since they shut here. Their old store along with British Home Stores had been demolished last time I was in town. I put up a pic here is some thread or other.

According to the blurb the redevelopment there is being transformed into a new urban residential-led neighbourhood.

I'll add my own rider to that - if they can raise the necessary. Current schedule suggests completion in 2032 which tells me they haven't got the money yet and probably won't. There are several empty sites in and near the town centre that have been empty a long time.  With one of them a new project and artist's impression appears from time to time but nothing ever gets started.

M&S, I bought some underwear last week. I haven't bought any clothes there this year, the styles and materials are awful. I haven't bought any clothes for ages.  Inhavecteen granddaughters, they buy from Primark, from Shein, and other online shops.

I don't know who M&S's target customers are any more, and I don't think they do either.

Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖
