Glad we're having some respite from the overwhelming night time heat.  Last night felt normal!

Hah,  I liked those heatwave guides.  

I did a bit of reading on those cool mats for dogs,  and some have a chemical gel stuff inside which put me right off.   No way would I want a dog of mine to lay on something like that incase she chewed it and exposed the gel.
I eventually found one that works by compression somehow,  with the dog's bodyweight making it cool her.  
Only trouble I have found is there is nothing to anchor it to the floor,  so on my vinyl kitchen floor,  its like a flippin' skate board!     It would be ok on carpets,  or in her dog bed,  but useless on vinyl so now she won't sit on it because it whizzes off as she tries to get comfortable.  

So glad its cooler now.   I fear we haven't seen the last of the heat though . . . .

My daughter in law puts wet flannels on the cockers' necks.  They seem to like it.

Mungo has a cold coat which does work but is getting tatty I don't know if they still sell them

I occasionally throw a wet towel over the Cat - from a safe distance, and with the First Aid box close at hand.
