Quote from: muddy on June 24, 2026, 11:31:02 PMIt's when people start speaking to you in a bright  cheerful voice you have worry !
No chance of that in London.

Quote from: Alex on June 25, 2026, 05:24:04 PMMy lad has fixed up one of those grip handles by the back door as the step is quite high.  So that's it then, this is officially and old person's house.
We've got one too.  Three steps up, and before I got my bionic knee, it was a necessity.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I have that joy to come. I do have a vacuum cup stick on handle in the shower. Mines over the bath and even with a mat it can get slippy.

Did have a downstairs toilet and shower put in too when it was modernised so the house can be set up as downstairs only. Hope it doesn't come to that but I don't want a stairlift which my parents had.

Scrumpy

I have three steps leading down to my house..
I dread the winter with ice.. I keep a bag of grit by my front door in the winter months..
I'm a wuss.. I will avoid any pavement that has frost on it..
.. I was watching Judge Judy the other day ( new series)..
Like us she is getting on a bit.. She said her doctor told her that the best advise to older people in three simple words..
  Don't fall over...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Easier said than done though. As I found out to my cost.  :worried:
