Ashy

Having done much soul searching, and meditation, I have decided to come out. I know that many of you will have suspected this for a long time now, if you have seen me wearing a raincoat and sitting in a bus shelter, or pulling my basket on wheels after a morning's shopping, but I think it is only right and proper and to be fair to everyone if I make this public declaration. I am an old codger.

Brave indeed. Well done. When I get old I too will be quick to admit it.

Ashy

Thank you, I am in tears as we speak.

You are not alone, Ashy.
If you started an Old Codgers club,  you would have many members within hours.

I wonder what the female version of 'old codger ' is, as I've been one for a few years now

An Old  Godgeress !!!
I'm getting there..
I do not count out my coins at the checkout.. yet.
However I do not do reverse parking in car parks..
I always arrive very early for my appointments..
... 'I remember when' is something I say often and 'Things were better back when I was young'.
Those around me seem so much younger..
Doctors ..Police and Teachers don't look old enough to be out on their own..

There's a very good reason for that in both our cases.

I remember when I first felt old.

I was showing a sweet young thing in her early twenties how to debug a problem in her mainframe program and she asked "How do you know all this stuff". I don't think I actually answered but if I had and was truthful it would have been - because I was doing this before you were born
