Where Raven is the day length varies noticeably more the it does diwn where we are. It varies even less where the toffs like Scrumpy live 

That is because our bloody bills are higher down here..
So , they give us extra daylight to try and compensate..

Dageus was a real trembling mess over fireworks, no matter what I did. I got a pill from the vet one year but all it did was send him staggering about like he was drunk....Never Again.
The Clydes hate them too and Mark one of Dunc's friends always spends that evening here to help with calming them. Nightmare.

I don't like fireworks - never have.  At one time, though, they only happened once a year - on bonfire night.  There was time to make sure our animals were safe.  Now they are set off for Guy Fawkes, Divali, Christmas, New Year, birthday parties - any old excuse and there are rockets screeching in the sky, without a thought for terrified pets, farm animals, and wildlife.  Not to mention the Injuries and/or damage they cause in irresponsible hands.

While I am not so much of a 'kill joy' that I would like to see them banned - I would like them to be restricted to public displays on designated dates.

Even sparklers make a noise. It's the bangs that launch them into the air and then another to eject the stars. I don't think public displays of ground based coloured flames are going to be overly popular.

It probably is time to only allow public displays though with every Tom Vladimir and Mahomed having birthday fireworks.
