I had three little boys and no they weren't always holding my hand they stood near me but weren't in an iron grip and little boys run about .
They only time I have ever used reins is on a horse .

for the last few years..

Thatcher was our best PM ever since Churchill.  Since the end of her tenure the country has gone downhill, slowly at first, then more noticeably under Bliar and Brown, slightly faster under a series of Conservative leaders, but rapidly since 2024 onwards.

Will we ever turn this country around again?  It all comes down to us, the voters.

Firstly, may I say sorry,  but I can't see that this tragic little boy is anything to do with Thatcher, Blair, Churchill,  or politics at all.
From what we know so far,  this man was a mental health patient in care.  What's that got to do politics?

I also feel there will be lots the public knows nothing about at the mo, too.

We have been led to believe this man had a Carer with him,  but I wonder about this part first.
There is a Care Home for people with mental health problems just around the corner from me,  and I often see them taking patients for a walk.   
These patients always have 2 carers escorting them,  not just one.  They have a carer walking one on each side of them,  which I think is far safer for all concerned. 

I expect at some point later,  we will hear more about what the parents were doing at the time, and also what the Carer was doing too.

I often see similar. The ratio varies presumably depending on need. Sometimes there are several patients and a couple of carers and sometimes less patients but I think there are always a couple of carers.

Let's hope they get to the bottom of how this could happen. How was the person who did it free to commit such a dreadful act? Who was with the child?  

We didn't use reins when ours were small, but when I looked after our youngest granddaughter as a toddler, she had a backpack with reins attached. The roads here are very busy, it was a good safety precaution.

Apparently he's autistic and non-verbal, and the question being raised is that as he was supposedly with two carers, what were they doing? Whatever the outcome, he seemingly isn't able to "walk the streets" by himself anyway - but it does raise huge questions about his supervision.

I wonder if there were others with him under the supervision of the two carers. If he had never before behaved in any way like this it could have been there was a small group under them.
