Ministers want 60% of children walking or cycling to school by 2035. What planet are these idiots on? Presumably the assumption is that currently less than 60% so do. surely, that being the case parents have decided that they do not want their children to walk or cycle. This should b their decision not some diktat from some Westminster clown

We always had to walk to school when we were kids,   but it was probably a lot safer for children to be out on their own in those days.  

I agree with you though Michael,  that it should be the parents decision though.   It would also depend on how far away the school was too.

I bet so too .
It's dangerous out there for children .
The roads are much busier and there are in some places hordes of unsafe men hanging about .
And lots of children still do walk to school .
