A wee story that's sad and a bit amusing, but nothing to do with the worlds troubles of today. I wonder where it escaped from and hopefully it will get a forever home, if somebody takes it in.

Scrumpy

Putting a rubber snake on the dashboard seems to have done the trick..
I do hope the parrot is captured and finds a kind home.. It is tough out in the wild for a tame bird..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Mups

What a strange thing to do?   I can't think why he would want rubber?

I would have thought perhaps a large cage with lots of goodies inside might tempt him,  then just  quickly shut the door on him.

I hope he is caught before someone loses their temper and shoots him.

Crows do similar. No idea why unless they are attacking their own reflection but crows are among the few animals reckoned to be smart enough to realise that it is themselves they are seeing. If it's parked cars at homes then hanging CDs or DVDs over the area keeps them at bay. The local charity shops should be able to shift at least some of their unsellable stock.

My uncle who was not really an animal man once bought an African Grey parrot cheap whilst visiting Liverpool . He said he should have had his suspicions when he noticed the crone who sold him the bird had two fingers missing !
He should have also been alert to the fact she threw in the cage as well .
Anyhow he brought it home and feeling sorry for it put it in the front room and opened the door thinking it would fly around and get exercise while he went out .
In his front room he had a rather fine desk with leather on top held by brass studs .
On his return he found that the parrot had removed all the studs and the desk was somewhat worse for wear!

In addition the parrot turned out to be a "growler" and made a terrible racket everytime a stranger entered the house .
It lived for years and my cousins were rather afraid that they would inherit it .

Moral don't buy cheap parrots in Liverpool .

Second parrot story

When I was young and just married my husband and I lodged with his Auntie a kind but rather fierce lady .( This was in Buenos Aires)
Wandering the streets one day I passed a horrible pet shop and there was a cage full of young green parrots .
On the floor of the cage was a woe begotten little chick with hardly any feathers and clearly the outcast . I went in and bought him .
Fierce  Auntie took one look and fell in love with him ! She hand fed him and he spent the day sat on her shoulder .He thrived and became a handsome bird he would fly about and always returned to her and if she asked for a kiss he would hop along her shoulder and kiss her cheek with his beak .

He didnt like me ( who had saved his bacon) and would try and peck me if he could ☹️

We found my daughter a piano teacher. She got on well with the lady who was teaching her and passed a bunch of exams up to about level 8 iirc. We always waited outside. Not because of poor playing, wanting to avoid intruding or any of those things. The teacher had a parrot of neither of us could stand the pong. Not sure if this was all parrots, the woman's inattention to parrot hygiene or what but we found it unbearable. Oddly enough our daughter wasn't fussed,
