There's front and back.

Front does selfies. Back does the camera stuff but the camera has more than one lens it can use depending on how you zoom it in or out.

Don't know the details but I think it mostly happens automatically depending on how you do the zoom. It will certainly go into macro mode if you zoom in on something close. There are actually three lenses on the back of mine so it could be 4 cameras if you add in the selfie one.

Ah!  Thanks Klon.
So I assume that to zoom in you pinch the image on the screen?
To do selfies, then, I assume you just click the camera and hold the phone screen up to your face?  Oh, I see there's a small circlr on the screen to use the selfie mode.

I don't use the camera much but do know that there are various fancy options. Zooming is the same as expanding images by moving fingers apart. If I wanted to do something with it and couldn't work out how by experiment I'd make Youtube my first port of call, My major annoyance with mine is I'll try to send a snap over whatsapp and find the dammed thing has popped into movie mode rather than photo. Doubtless my sausage fingers.

What bothers me most is,  using the camera and then finding out I can't  download/upload (which is it?)  the darn pictures from my camera to my computer!!

I bought a new  USB but when I plug it into my phone and then into the computer,  thats as far as I can go because its too confusing for my pea brain.

I have tried following instructions from YouTube,  but what they say is not the same as what I am seeing on my screen!
It really is so frustrating,  that I just give up in the end.

At the risk of making things worse you could try windows phone link which removes the need for a cable but does require an app connecting on both plus both being connected to your WiFi ( which they may well be already) and the phone connected to the laptop with Bluetooth. They should all be one time setups though.

The most likely problem you have either usb is that the phone needs connecting foe phone transfer not just charging, the cable needs to support data and the phone needs to be open when you want to transfer.

Another option you could look at is Google photos. The phone can automatically backup photos to your Google account and you can access Google photos on.the laptop too.

Shouldn't it offer the option to 'Transfer'  automatically  though, Klondie?
I never even knew I could charge my phone from my computer.  I usually just plug it in the wall socket, not the p.c.

I get pretty fed up not being able to do these techy things.  It was so much easier with my old camera I used to have,  but a phone doesn't seem anywhere near as simple,  but thank you for trying.

Mups  - I had the same problem with my mobile - played around with it and found this works for me :-

On your PC/Laptop click on 'File Explorer'

Plug your mobile into USB port  - it should bring up "internal shared storage" - double click on that.

It will show you several folder icons - double click on the one labelled DICM.

This will bring up another row of folder icons - double click on the one labelled CAMERA

This will show all the photos currently on your mobile.

From there you can either click on the three dots (...) and choose 'select all' which will load all of them into the 'Picture' folder on your PC, or you can highlight individual ones and up load one at a time.

Personally I upload all as I find it is easier to edit/delete unwanted ones from the PC than from the mobile.

Give it a try - good luck.

That sounds interesting Tabby,  thank you.
I will give that a try and let you know how I get on.

P.S.  Just one thing though,  do you use an actual camera,   or your mobile to take the photos?

Silver Tabby

Those instructions are for the mobile.

Depends how it was set in the past plus it can vary from release to release.
