It's bad for my blood pressure.

Maybe just stick to the politics and stop the name calling ?

he is still the same racist thug he has always been.

CHF.. Your opinion is as important as that of anyone else.

Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Hang on a cotton picking minute...
Have we seriously got fans of Tommy Robinson on this forum???

Mups

This is precisely why I loathe Politics.
I have never seen any discussions on Politics or Religion that don't sour the atmosphere.

I'm out of here.

Good idea.

Nigel Farage is likely to become our next PM, once Labour have been kicked out.
My personal opinion is that he is the one potential leader who has promised to remove all people from the Third World who have entered our country illegally.
I assume that you do not agree with that, and I'm afraid that you are likely to be rather disappointed.

Tommy Robinson may be a thug in your eyes, but I should like to hear some specific evidence to support that, other than your own personal opinion of him.  It is very easy to pour scorn on someone you do not like, but surely you must specify some specific acts or statements which that person has made in order to justify it.
As for 'patriotic marches', please explain in what way his are not patriotic.

Incidentally, I know the correct way of flying the Union Flag.  Do you, other than others' comments you may have heard?

Of course it's not used as a political weapon .
I have one flying in my garden .
You have a poor opinion of your fellow British  if you class them as rabble for going on a peaceful
march carrying their own flag .
How do you know he is a racist thug ?
While you are entitled to your opinion without any evidence it's doesn't  really carry any impact.

Every forum member should be entitled to an opinion..
We don't have to agree with them..
I don't think it is necessary to be rude to them or about them..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I agree and I do think it s extra.ordinary that people talk about 'admiring' and 'fans of ' Tommy Robinson as if we were teenage groupies and not a bunch of OAPs .😀

It's possible to have different opinions without resorting to silliness .

I believe in Free Speech surely most of us do , so does Tommy Robinson .
It has been proved that the grooming gangs were almost exclusively Pakistani .
This after years of the truth being sweep under the carpet .
He campaigned ( and was jailed ) for bring  this into public awareness .
Was he wrong ?
Are all of us who deplore this all racists ?
He has been accused of being anti Islam of being Islamophobic .
Islamophobia is fear of Islam .
Anyone who does not have a healthy fear of Islam has their head in the sand .

I agree with your first sentence, of course we're all entitled to our opinion.
But it would be sad if a happy friendly forum became over-politicised so that posters stopped posting for fear of being shot down

Scrumpy

I am not in the habit of 'shooting people down'.
But I will stand my ground... and voice my opinion when I wish.. I am not rude to others who choose to do the same.. even if their opinion is opposite to that of mine..

Scrumps of course I wasn't referring to you!!

I don't want a row, but Tommy Robinson has been in prison plus he is known
for stirring things racially and has started or been involved in other anti-racial
movements.

Nigel Farage is far right in his politics, and some of his proposed policies are
unpleasant and threatening.

Donald Trump is downright nuts and dangerous with it, for the world.

These are all my honest opinions, and I suppose we must just agree to disagree
without becoming rude to each other or beligerant. If I have been either of these
things, I apologise.

Ruthio

There's often one story or incident about these controversial people that sticks in your mind and prejudices you against them.,.
Take the MP Robert Jenrick who had the welcoming kiddies cartoon mural painted over because it was too friendly, I can never forgive him for that unkindness
And Tommy Robinson shared a video of a black man playing with his white granddaughters...
"The man and his family are living in fear of their lives after being falsely branded paedophiles"
Just two examples...

I am not trying to shoot you down, and certainly not trying to pour scorn, but would you mind clarifying some things for me?

For what was Tommy Robinson imprisoned?  I'm simply interested and I am not trying to disagree with you or anything you have said.  I ask because I don't know.

Can you please enlighten me as to which stated policies of Farage are unpleasant and threatening?  I have heard his words several times and would be interested to know about any specific words can be described as unpleasant or threatening.  I don't want to argue; I simply want to know what upsets people.

Can you please help me with some specifics, please?

My last tuppence....  I'm interested in politics and have been since I was in my 20s and 'leaflet posting' for the Labour Party.   I enjoy discussion, hearing other people's views and particularly listening to radio programmes.  These programmes sometimes get really heated, but those discussing don't resort to name calling.  We should be able to discuss current events on here, without labelling people, that's all I was saying.
