On the news today.. Two women are saying they were abused/raped whilst appearing on a reality show..
MAFSUK.. Channel 4
It involves couples who are (matched) to have a pretend wedding and see how it evolves over the next few weeks.. One make believe bride said she was raped by her make believe husband.. He told her that if she reported him he would arrange acid to be thrown over her face..
Ok, you might not like or watch these kind of programmes but there are many that do..

What a sad world we live in when violence and hate affects out TV shows..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I hate those reality shows, every single one of them. I like good old fashioned telly with detective shows, comedy shows, nature documentaries ect ect.
We don't watch much telly now, record what either of us want to watch and do so when we want to.

You may well not like them.. But many do..

I was merely pointing out that there are some nasty people out there..
Even on a simple tv show there are those that have evil intent..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Raven

Yes I know many people like them, I was just saying that personally I don't. I wasn't having a go at you, sorry if you read it that way,  :worried:

I heard a bit about this on the news last night,  but  I was only half listening.

For the life of me I can't understand the young people who want to go on these shows.  I would not want a daughter of mine to do it.

Wasn't there another one, even worse, not long ago,  where prospective young couples were all doing the courting bit while totally naked?   Who in their right mind would want to do that?   Why would anyone want to show all their private bits to the world on TV?

I think these sort of shows are made by exhibitionists, for the enjoyment of other exhibitionists.

I think we'll have to see what develops over this particular story,  two sides to every tale.

I started to watch one, I think it was the Australian version, a while ago.
I saw about 20 minutes of absolute rubbish and switched off. I'd rather
 watch paint drying.
As to the people who appear in them.....  Well, there's 'nowt' funnier than folk!

It is crap..
However I still believe that it is a terrible time when tv programmes are not safe areas..

I agree, Scrumpy.
It looks as if rape was committed, and that is wrong.

Couldn't agree more.
Seems to me the fashion is to pick the lowest feature of human nature and exploit it...

I don't watch it but have read all about it lately...

Seems to me that if you put out this kind of totally crap tv (in my humble opinion) then you must expect totally crap behaviour!!

It really is the lowest of the low isn't it?

I mean, who in their right kind would take part in a show like this, and I'm pretty broad minded believe it or not!!
