I'd say it is the stupidity of the Scottish electorate.

In other matters, it seems to me that perhaps the majority of Scots vote for any party which supports Scottish independence.
Don't they realise that Scotland is financially supported by England?  I'm not sure how well they'd be able to finance their own country if they ever did gain independence.
I should add that I have nothing against the Scots; we have relatives living near Glasgow.

Traditionally in modern times the Scotts have been over represented in the UK military and well respected too. I think they were busy fighting among themselves though when the Crusaders invaded the Holy Lands so the answer is probably nothing.

Overall the Scotts politics are well to the left of many of the English and the SNP is pretty woke.

  Q for queer shouldn't even be here, never mind elected to Holyrood !  What on earth were those Scots voters thinking of ?   Probably the same as the the stupid English voters who put Zolanski's Green Party in town halls across the country.

I agree.  I don't understand how he/she can fulfil student visa conditions and those of a MSP?  I'm appalled, but not surprised that he/she was selected as a candidate.    is happening, not just in Scotland, but across the UK!  The Greens in Gorton issued their campaign statement in Urdu.   IMO anyone making a life here needs to understand the English language, or get someone who can translate to explain.

The Political Parties have all gone mad IMO, both in Scotland and England.
I don't remember any of the in-fighting and scandal from when I was growing up, whoever was in power, was in power and got on with the job, and the News on the TV, Radio and daily papers were full of news not rubbish.

It's the people.  Specifically, the young people.  Why they are so stupid these days is probably because of the damage done to our education system, especially teachers many of who are trendy lefties now.  Yes, I may have said it before, but when they stopped caning (and yes, I have been caned) kids began to realise that there's nothing much more that they can do if I choose to misbehave.
The same applies to murder.  I have seen some sentences for murder being only a few years.  After an initial shock, the culprits then sit back and plan their next 'adventure'.

Codswallop is taken as gospel. So many of those without an iota of integrity
can spout nonsense and hate, and the naive believe it and repeat it.
