I use a normal kettle, a Bosch which I've had since September 2015  ! you can choose the temperature and there's a keep warm button.   It won't shorten trousers though   😎

What amazes me is the price they ask for posh but ordinary kettles when you can get a serviceable cheap one from a supermarket for less than a tenner (or a least you could - I haven't kept track of pricing).

I mostly  like the one cup one for it's speed. It does save some electricity as you only heat what water you use but I imagine even at today's prices you'd need to boil a lot of cups for any saving to catch up with the higher cost.

The reservoir needs filling but a carer could do that or you could just tip a cup or two in as needed.
Thanks, Klon, my carers usually remember to add water to the kettle, but it is
heavy to pick up and tip up.

If you always boil it full apart from the potential danger it will use more power and take much longer.

The one I linked to is cheaper now than when I bought mine. I had to replace one I bought from Lidl or Aldi some years before. With that one you just held it down as long as you needed. With the current one it dispenses the same each time and you have to set a little dial that matches the size of the cups you will use.

That is both an advantage and a disadvantage - if you use different sized cups you will need to adjust it a little but you just press the button once and the job gets done.
