Is your loft too tidy?

Never been up in it, the loft entrance is tiny, child size or a VERY thin adult only. My loft down at my own house in Perth is tidy as I'm not one for using it for storage. Entrance is big though with a pull down ladder.

Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Mine has only got some Christmas decorations up there,  nothing else.
I don't think I dare go up there anymore anyway,  as dizzy spells and ladders don't mix.

You all need some of those old cables  then. Check your local next door there may be some free there. You don't need many. I've found they breed. Just put a few in a box and when you look next you'll have several boxes crammed to overflowing. Particularly good breeders are ones you can't remember the last one you ever used such as Scart leads and those ones with red white and yellow connecters for audio and video all in a bundle that you don't recall ever using.

Should you ever need a usb lead don't be tempted to look in any of those boxes which will be threatening to collapse the rafters if there has been no regular culling. The specific one you need will have hidden itself away. There will be dozens with the wrong connectors or just a bit too short. Sometimes there will be a fooler though. You'll use it in some long task that takes just about forever then at the end find it never actually worked because that cable is damaged and the one you could swear you binned ages ago when you found it was useless.

True, I'm not one for faffing about on ladders since my balance went to pot after my leg break. I'm sure I'd be ok on the ladder at Perth, it's fixed and has hand rails up each side, you just step off it into the loft. Come down backwards. Similar to these ones.

That sounds a better idea, Raven.   :upvote:

My loft is crammed and it's very low you can only stand up in the middle .
I keep going to clear it out but them it's makes me sad going through things so have a cry and then come back down again .

Ashy

I can honestly say there is a tidy bit in my loft where the loft ladder lies down.

Those horses were great, we had one with the big bow rockers when my sisters and I were growing up. They didn't bother with it as they got older but I still loved old Dobin even when I was a teenager. He sat in the big hall of the house and I would sit on him rocking gently and read.
When we moved house my mother, who knew how much I loved Dobin waited untill I was at school before she had it taken to the sale rooms, it broke my heart when I realised what had happened, it also altered my relationship with her, I've never to this day forgiven her, I would never have gotten rid of Dobin and would have him to this day, also my own two would have loved playing with him as well.
This is is what he looked like.
