I was the kid in the middle.. One older sister.. one younger sister..
We were all born in January one year between us..
My eldest sister had new clothes ... they were passed down to me.. My younger sister had new clothes because after being worn by me and my older sister they were not fit to be passed down..
So.. I was only the one that seldom wore anything new..

Did you have pass me down clothes..?
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Michael Rolls

Yes all the time, I have three older sisters. I seldom got new clothes, except sometimes on my birthday if I really wanted something.
I wasn't too fussed at first but when I became 13/14 I got really iffy about it.

I was the eldest and had two younger brothers .
My mum didn't think they needed to help with the washing up 🤬

I'm a middle child, always a rebel!!

I was an only child. Unusual back then.

I was an only child too. My clothes got passed down to my cousin who was a year younger.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I had an elder brother. When it came to clothes, wartime rationing meant
even the essentials were hard to get. I remember queueing with my
mother for shoes, hoping the shops' quota hadn't been sold by the time we got
there.

I remember having a new pair of red shoes.. Not for school... for 'best'..
 I can still visualise them..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I remember asking if I could have boots. I meant Beatle type boots. I got god awful sensible ones. I hated them.
