Quote from: Raven on May 02, 2026, 04:51:35 PMThere's lot's of videos on YouTube of how to paint stones, I referred to them a lot. I also used paint pens not brush and paint, then varnished them after they dried.
Raven,  what paint do you use?  Is it acrylics?

I once did all my dogs paw prints and painted them.   I rolled a piece of clay out,  then put it under one front paw while lifting the other opposite front paw a little,  and that made them put more weight onto the clay to get the imprint done.     I have more than these three here.  I have done all the dogs over the years.
They don't look deep imprints in the picture, but they are.

That book looks great Mups .
And what a good idea re the plants .
I frequently forget what I have planted I put little markers in but they always seem to get lost / knocked over / and generally disappear forever .
A stone would be a much better option .

Yes,  I liked the plant markers idea too,  Muddy.

I think we can paint on slate too, can't we?

Alex

What a great idea for the garden !

Yes Mups, Acrylic Paint Pens from Ebay.
Love the paw prints, wish I'd thought of that, while I was still able to get them.

Thanks Raven.
When I look back at the German Shepherds paw print next to the little Beddies,  (not in the picture),   it makes the Beddies look like toy prints!

I have always kept my old pony's horse shoes too -  and he died back in 1974.

I remember making a picture from a grandsons hand prints for his mum. We used some big tubes of watercolour paint from a high street store.

I still don't know how to sort out the problem of a baby with blue hands going back to mum in an hour's time. They aren't still blue so mum must have worked it out.

Have no inspiration ☹️ so using up an old board with yet another horse

Sometimes things just don't go right ,then I will generally just paint over and do something else .

Raven

Wish I could paint like you, I've just sent for a box of Acrylic Paint Pens as you've put me in the mood to have another go with the stones. Just got to go to the beach and find some suitable ones. 👍

That's a coincidence Raven I was just looking on line at some acrylic pencils .
I have never used them but they looked good
I shall get some
