Painting is my hobby .
This is what's on my easel today .
It's an oil painting of an Andulusian horse done in sepia colours .
I haven't finished it yet can't decide what more to do .
There is always the danger of over doing it.

klondike

Looks great. I've never had those skills.

Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

muddy

Thank you everyone .
I love horses and miss them
I rarely ride now so I paint them instead .

muddy

Here is the ( almost ) finished picture .
Will probably leave it like this .
Are there any other painters ,potters etc on here ?

Raven

I love that Muddy. I paint flat stones when the mood takes me. I'm not good but you can usually see what it's meant to he.
I got into it during Covid, painting the stones and hiding them in plain sight for the kids to find when I was out walking Dageus.
I kept about a half dozen that I liked for the garden. Keep meaning to start again, but need to do a beach reckie first to find some good stones to use.

You will have to post some pictures 🙂

Raven

Not very good but as I said, you can tell what their meant to be.

Mups

I love them, Raven.  Well done.
I have thought many times of trying that myself,  but never got round it.

In my gardening magazine someone sent a picture up recently of painted stones they used instead of labels for their garden plants.   They had painted a little picture of the plant and written the name,  and I thought it was a really good idea.

klondike

They certainly look plenty good enough to me. Nobody expects a Rembrandt or Constable on these stones and I'm sure the finders of those you did leave out for others were delighted.

There's lot's of videos on YouTube of how to paint stones, I referred to them a lot. I also used paint pens not brush and paint, then varnished them after they dried.

muddy

I think they are brilliant !

That book looks great Mups .
And what a good idea re the plants .
I frequently forget what I have planted I put little markers in but they always seem to get lost / knocked over / and generally disappear forever .
A stone would be a much better option .
