Doesn't make sense to me.. It just encourages the ignorant to have more children with little or no regard
as to where the extra money is coming from..

I'll tell them where the EXTRA money is coming from..
People who PAY their taxes.. People who contribute to the money pot..
People who go to work for the minimum wage.. 

As for Universal Credit.. Don't even go there...

I agree, everyone has access to contraception. I'm still annoyed that people who qualified for the State Pension from 2016 onwards get far more basic pension than older people.  More than £2500 pa more.

Terrible thing to have done to the older pensioners..
 We still have to heat our homes.. Flush our toilets.. Use electricity and gas.. Buy food... and clothing..
  We still need to visit the dentist..  
We still need to fix the roof.. 
Whatever the size of our home.. whatever age we are.. all these things need to be done .

This.  My state pension is pitiful, the years I was at home don't count, unlike nowadays. And I was daft enough to pay a reduced contribution NI stamp (Married Women's) for years without being fully cognisant at the time what it would mean.

I was the same GM, paid ' married woman's stamp' for years even though I was working full time, silly me.  When I lived in Germany where my son was born I didn't claim child benefit, silly me again, as that would have counted towards my pension.

We weren't as well up on pensions as my kids' generation.  It was something far off in the future, I was more bothered about paying the mortgage!

We weren't a generation of 'claim all you can' modern-day benefit experts.

It never occurred to us that we could be better off, in later life, by not working or paying into private pensions.

The clever ones out there are those who know how to 'Work the system'..
... that being the only 'work' they know of..
We didn't know how to do this because there was very little system to 'work'..
 
We were offered jobs.. After three attempts and still not working we went on the 'Dole'.. 
which was peanuts and did not involve benefits for this that and the other..

I am sure there was no such thing as 'Carers allowance'.
No 'Cheap' motors provided for those who had 'Walking' problems...
No free 'Holidays' because they needed to get away.. 

Now it seems that everyone is caring for someone.. and are given nice motors to take them 'out'..
