Mups

Would anyone be interested in a gardening thread,  or do you think not enough people would be join in?

Just sort of . . .  what we're growing this year,  flowers, fruit,  veg,  what problems we might be having, good crops or bad, etc . . .
What do you think?   Would that be too boring?

I'm well known in gardening circles for my brown fingers so I won't but I'm sure many will and indeed already have in various posts in the past.

I will add that this year I do have an especially good crop of dandelions growing between my paving cracks but the grass and moss are not producing much of a show yet

I'd be up for one Mups.

I'm not an avid gardener, but I enjoy pottering, and our little patch is looking quite good.  Lots of cyclamen in the tiny front garden, they spread every year, no effort from me!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Yes, I'm in. Not so busy a gardener as I used to be, try to keep it an easy to manage garden these days. Big shrubs mostly, I like my long trough planters though, I have 5 of them. At the moment they still have polyanthus in them for winter colour. Too early to get the summer bedding plants yet, next month will do that.

I am pleased.  Thanks very much Granny, Raven and Vlad.

I will give it some thought on how to start.  :upvote:

In the meantime,   have a look at the gorgeous colour of one of my Agapanthus last summer.
I love these, and have got quite a few in different colours.

And some of my white Agapanthus.

I'm enjoying seeing everyone's pictures.   The Primulas always look lovely, don't they,  such vivid colours.    :upvote:

Does anyone grow much from seeds or cuttings,  or do you mostly tend to buy plugs?
How are you getting on with these new composts we're stuck with now?

GrannyMac

I don't grow from seed. Perennials, and the garden centre is my friend!

Your agapanthus is lovely, Mups.

Thank you Granny.
They are easy to look after too.  Only time its a bit harder is every 2 or 3 years they have to be tipped out the pot and divided, which I find a bit of a chore.

I have to be careful what I plant because Gertie is an avid gardener and meddles with everything!

GrannyMac

I'm hoping for a nice show of these again this year.

They look pretty, Granny.   :upvote:

Doesn't look like I will get much done today,  it looks like its going to pour down soon and even thunder is forecast this afternoon!

This is my patch which I have inherited. The pond is new though, The building at the back was part of an aviary with a large bird enclosure in front, now dismantled My Greenhouse photos to follow is around the left hand corner. I am slowly making my mark. I think the last owner had a thing about Lias..there are lots of Camelias, and Azaleas and Magnolias
