Spammers and Hackers

I have been getting a ridiculous amount of spam in my emails for the last few weeks.   Before this, I only got the odd one now and again,  nothing like this.

Anyway, a strange thing happened on my Laptop last night.   I received a notice saying my GMail account had been suspended??    What on earth's that all about?

So I turned my Desktop machine on,  and my  GMail on there is perfectly alright,  so surely the account can't have been suspended can it?

I don't know what to do,  as there is no GMail on my Laptop now?  I daren't use the Laptop at all now,  incase there is something nasty been planted on there.

(This is the machine I just had the new battery fitted a week or two ago).

Have you got a virus checker Mups?  I used to use Malwarebytes, before that it was AVG.  They're free to download, or used to be and they'll check if there's anything odd going on.

This is weird.    

It has suddenly started working again on the Laptop.   
I did an extra  scan just to make sure everything was alright, and it said it was.
No idea why it went like that yesterday.
