Went for a CT scan yesterday.. The appointment was at 2.30..
I arrived early to get a parking space... Car park only half full.!!
Bought a newspaper and sat in the coffee area..
Went to the xray area.. checked in.. Time 2pm.
They called me through straight away..
I was back home at 2.45...
Parking fee 5 pounds..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Glad it went well Scrumpy  :upvote:  but a fiver to park? We don't pay to park at hospitals here. You need to take a free ticket and you get 4 hours. If you don't have a ticket you get hammered with non parking tickets and it can cost a lot.

Scrumpy

Raven... Nothing free down here.. It can cost many pounds if you are delayed in the hospital.. or visiting..
    I have just checked .. 5pounds up to 2hrs....
Daily maximums of 13.65.. 24hrs

Good luck with the results, Scrumps.   :upvote:

Thank you Mups.. The CT scan was asked for by a hospital doctor at the beginning of January.. when I was admitted..
Throat, neck, stomach.. That is how busy they are..
Not a priority.. obviously.. That's comforting...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

£5 is a bit OTT for parking, ours is £3.65 for up to 4 hours.  Hope your results are ok, I'm still waiting for mine from 10th March  but as you say, comforting in a way.

Have the results.. two days later..
The notes and letters were on SASH..
Nothing serious.. Recommend another scan in 3 months..

At least you won't get stiffed for parking in 3 months. We'll all be walking by then.

What amazing quick results.  That wouldn't happen here.
You must feel very relieved,  and I am very pleased for you. Well done gal.

Mups... Do you have the NHS  app on your phone !
Mine is SASH  Surrey and Sussex Healthcare.
You can read all your letters and results as they come in..

Alex

I've been checking mine every few days.  When I rang the surgery receptionist said it can take 3 or 4 weeks for test results to appear.

No,  I have Patient Access,  but you can't see results as quick as yours was.
At my surgery apparently the Secretary's read results first,  and I have had results take a fortnight to appear on my records.

Is the NHS app the same as Patient Access?
I can't do much on my phone,  I only do calls, and texts,   so it has to be by computer.

Alex

I use Patient Access too Mups, you can see results, make appointments and order repeat prescriptions on there. :upvote:

Is your surgery changing over to Anima,  Alex?
Ours are doing it from next Tuesday,  but they have said us oldies can still phone and they will do the Anima request for us.

There seems to be nothing common between GPs. It's because they all operate as individual businesses under the NHS banner. Mine were doing a system (forget the name now) where you could book a same or next day video appointment with a third party provider but that got withdrawn. Shame as that was my first port of call.

I book repeats through Systemonline which was used by my previous GP but have an idea I could also use either NHS or Anima.

I seem to get messages on the NHS app but also by text.

With Anima if you get on it by 8:00am and go through a tediously long series of responses get to describe why you are calling. They triage it and pass it to GP who then either does a same day phone back or iirc sends a link that lets you book a face to face. It all seems to change pretty often just to keep you confused.

Getting through on the phone can easily take as long as walking the half mile or so to the surgery and back so I often just do that instead to escape the constant garbage about how important I am to them and I'm now only 26th in the queue.

I know I can use one of those apps to check results but they are as often as not technobable which probably means yeah it's not working but to be expected at my age.
