I just wear canvas pumps. I used to have some unlined leather moccasins from a DIY kit I got as a birthday present. I wore them through and patched them up with bits of leather glued on countless times. My wife said she'd bury me in them. I still have them somewhere but stopped wearing them for some reason years ago.
