It's nice to hear a story of police actually helping someone instead of their day job.

I was using a Firefox browser at the time,  but have since tried with Chrome and its just the same.
Ah I see - yes that's just a pretty standard cookies acceptance thing because of an EU law. You may as well just accept because you'll just get tracked by your browser fingerprint instead of cookies if you Reject and Pay. - https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/

I use a PiHole on my network that blocks all the tracking stuff and Brave browser with gives a randomised fingerprint and can block tracking cookies anyway. I don't see many ads and rarely get challenged about using ad blocking as mine isn't broswer based. The only ads I see are those published by the site themselves which rules out any tracking cookies anyway.

Our tests indicate that you have strong protection against Web tracking.
Is your browser:
Blocking tracking ads?   Yes
Blocking invisible trackers?   Yes
Protecting you from fingerprinting?   ◕ your browser has a randomized fingerprint
Still wondering how fingerprinting works?
