I live in hope, but I agree that it will be a very uphill struggle.
The other thing which is happening in the UK is the number of young people who choose not to bother working.
There is, of course, a reason for that in that there is not as much work on offer these days, partly because of the problems with the economy.  However, if and when the money begins to run out it is possible that the dole and other handouts might reduce or even disappear.
If I were a young school leaver again, I'd be making every effort to find a job.  Any job.

It's an interesting discussion, but look at the world - wars and starving in such a lot of places. Our basic law or whatever you call it prescribes that we have to help people in need. However, as someone put it, we can't save the whole world. 
In the 50s and 60s we needed workers, so we looked for guest workers (Gastarbeiter) in Southern Europe and Turkey. Many of them stayed in Germany, others returned to their home countries when they retired. 
Some decades later people living in Russia and other Eastern European countries were allowed to settle down in Germany, if they had German ancestors. 
In 2015 migrants mainly  from Syria and Afghanistan flooded Germany, since  2022 more than a million of Ukrainians sought protection in Germany and our politicians fear that the number of Iranian migrants will increase enormously in the future. In addition we have migrants from Northern Africa.
Sending them back to their home countries is very difficult, as their home countries must be ready to take them back and as far as I know they aren't very keen on doing it. On the other side as per our laws we cannot send someone back to the home country if it is probable that he/she will be pursued there. 
The best way to solve this problem would be to offer them a life that doesn't cause them to leave the home country, but at the moment that's illusory. 
So you see, it's not only a British problem, but it's an European problem, too.

All that is happening is that they are coming to Europe and changing it and not for the better .

I think that a similar thing here began in the '60s, but in our case it was largely from Pakistan.  The public seemed to refer to them generally as 'Pakis' anyway.
In the late '60s, my dad had an off-licence shop in Bradford (where we lived) and as time went on and the 'invasion' grew larger, he was forced to sell his shop (and our home), mainly because the 'Pakis' had opened their own shop on the next corner and very few, if any, people used our shop.  We moved away further south, though still in the same city.
That city is now probably more Pakistani than English.  I certainly wouldn't want to live there now.

Very interesting.  The first thing I noticed in the population pyramid was that after the mid-70s (I am 74 this year) there are more women than men, which actually is no real surprise.  Also the ongoing increase in non-white, especially Pakistani, people has increased to the level you say since the early 1970s, when I was in my teens.  That is when I began to notice the increase in numbers.  Having said that, the first non-white lad I saw when I was at grammar school was when I was about 12 years old, and he was a very pleasant Indian young man.
