I do that, got 3 rolls of cling film in the cupboard

Good job you're not a bloke. I've got multiple boxes of identical Lidl nuts, bolts, screws, hooks washers etc. Naturally all unopened. You never know went they'll be needed.

Mr M has loads of screws / nails etc 
Only when we need them he can't find them so we have to go and buy some more ......

I don't think it's an age thing though - more a man thing.

That said I used some small rollers on a stick to paint the back of a summerhouse. I recalled that when I saw some and thought I'd better get some for the next time. I am pretty organised with putting stuff like that away it seems because when  I put them away there were two identical packs in the spot I chose.

Checking three times whether you locked the back door and turned the telly off at the wall before going to bed.

Going into another room to get something,  then doing something entirely different instead.

 I am terrible for getting distracted like that.  Loads of times I go to do something then get distracted along the way and do something else entirely!

On my walk I passed the house of a dear friend who died last year..
There was a skip on the drive.. Her daughter was standing along side it.. I spoke to her.
She couldn't believe the stuff she was finding.. She had a bottle of Oil of Ulay in her hand.. 
The label was dated in the nineties.. She said that there were many, many photo's of people she didn't know.. She asked what my daughter Marnie might do in the same situation.. 
I told her that I hope Marnie would dump the lot.. After all they are her mum's memories.. not hers..  She replied.. 'You are so right'.. 'Thank you'..
