It will be possible to just clone that drive onto the new one. It won't be a reinstall of windows but I'm not sure why you wanted one.

How are your other devices performing now? You said they were all stalling and slow which sounded like a WiFi or connection problem but for some reason decided to upgrade the disk on the laptop maybe because the Virgin engineer suggested that. If the old one was too full it may have caused problems but could have probably be cleared of junk fixing the problem. If it was an old mechanical drive then an SSD will improve performance but there would need to be something seriously awry for a hard drive to have any effect at all on browsing or watching YouTube.
