I occasionally have that and usually just watch a bit of youtube or something. Messes up the next day of course.

I often find myself awake and (thinking) at silly hours..
Why can't night time be in the day.. !!!  I sleep much better then..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Mups

It's so annoying when we can't get off to sleep, isn't it.
If I can't sleep its usually because I've got something playing on my mind.

I always read my book in bed,  but only nice stories, not anything scary that would keep me awake.

Before I had Dageus, I still had Maggiemay and Pashka, they slept in the kitchen. I often listened to audio books in bed. I was listening to a Dennis Wheatley one night, a scary one and suddenly the bedroom door swung open very slowly, I almost had a heart attack, The girls had got the kitchen door open and had come out, they were creeping into the bedroom very quietly hoping I wouldn't notice.
That was more scary than the bloody book.
I can laugh about it now, but at the time OMG. 😱 🫢 😨

I found listening to audiobooks in bed really frustrating.

Nod off with a Kindle or probably any ebook reader no problem - it just stops there on the page you were reading.

Nod off with a paperback and you can usually find your place easily.

Nod off with an audiobook playing and good luck finding your place without a lot of hassle.

I love them, listen when I do my online jigsaws or knitting. Sometimes if I'm driving between Thurso and Perth.  :upvote:

Nothing beats holding a paper book in your hand..
Turning the pages.. dozing off it can fall to the floor.. silently..
Then you can pass it on to another.. Or put it on the shelf in a coffee shop for someone else to read..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..
