Good grief,  I have just read that a man in his 80's  has  died  of Cholera in the UK.
The poor man died in a hospital in Nuneaton.

Apparently it is the first case of this disease in the UK  for 125 years.
Scary stuff ey  . .

Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I used to have the MOH report for the 1880s and there were cases back then, but now?

Have they said if he had been abroad?

We have had no cases of cholera here in decades (I see from the story I found no cases in over a century). The bacteria arrived from overseas. The victim may have been overseas but he didn't have to have been abroad. As he was in his 80s it is less likely he had been to any third world country imo. He only had to eat eaten something from a dodgy takeaway with somebody who came from abroad working there. Or maybe a relative?

The carrier need not exhibit symptoms...

If people arrive unchecked in any way from third world countries they can be carrying anything. Many are working illegally. One favourite job is fast food delivery. They may well use the toilets at the fast food outlet. They always seem to be in a big hurry.

I could be entirely wrong but there is certainly a fair chance that I'm not. It came from somewhere.

A source told The Sun that his family "have no idea how he caught it".

"They were asked by doctors if he'd been abroad recently, but he hadn't. He lived at home with his youngest son," they said.

The question now is will there be any more?

Another reason for turning around the 'boat people'.  Let them infect France.  But no.  TwoTier wants them here.

It can also be contracted from faecal traces in the water.
I am sure we have all seen on the news in 2025  about the disgusting drinking water we are being  supplied with in,  especially in the areas where the water companies are being fined for letting sewage pour into the water.

In this man's case, they don't seem to know where he contracted it from yet.

The old chap lived with his son, as has already been said,  so I hope the son will be ok.
