Lap Tops

I have a mini PC linked to my TV that I used to play films and that requires some minimal use of a mouse which I do on a little table beside the sofa. I will just about work on the arm of the sofa but isn't al that accurate. I have a mini wireless keyboard too but that mostly only gets used for the spacebar to pause.

Ah,  I see.    I asked because sometimes in the evening I do what JBR just said, and sit on the sofa with my laptop on a breakfast tray thingy,  but the tray is only just big enough for the laptop, there is no spare space, so don't think that would work then.  Thanks anyway.

You need a bigger settee.
I'm relieved to say that my mouse is housetrained and has never curled one up on the settee!

I was surprised upon buying a new com, might have e been the current DELL,  although I am not sure, to read in the instructions, (you know when all else fails) it strongly advised against using then Machine on your lap for a protracted length of time as this interferes with the airfflow round the machine and could cause overheating.
I never use the machine on my lp, always in the office on the desk, of if for reason I am restricted to bed, I have a large tray across my knees which allows use of the mouse and doesn't interfere with the airflow

There are trays made with pillow type bottoms specially for that. 

I have an All-in-one on a desk in what used to be my office in the days when I worked. 
The laptop lives in a bureau with a drop down flat. There's a small bucket armchair that sits next to that and gets pulled round in front for laptop sessions. 

I used to have a chromebook but hardly ever used it so my daughter got that. 

Tablet for the sofa. Phone for anywhere else but my sausage fingers really struggle with that and I spend more time fixing typos and autocorrupt than actually typing anything new in that.

That's what I've got,   but I mostly use my desktop though.

I remember reading somewhere long ago,  that its not a good idea to use a laptop straight on your legs for any length of time,  as it can interfere with a man's ability to make babies.  Same with those who keep their mobile phones in the jeans pocket all day and everday.   It does something to male sperm.
Wonder if that's true?

Both my laptops have 'stands' for want of a better word, which angle them, which I find more comfortable when typing, and allows air  to circulate all round them
