I suppose there must be filters or something to prevent all the toxic fumes from burning plastic going up into the environment ?
There are.  Lots of monitoring, and it reduces massively the amount of rubbish going to landfill.

In December, the Environment Agency announced that planning work to clear up the illegal site had begun. A waste removal contract has since been signed and Acumen Waste Services Ltd are now preparing ahead of the waste removal activities, which are planned for the end of February.

I wonder who will pay for all this ......?

Good question, Muddy..

I also heard on the news the other day that there is also oil leaking into the river from all the rubbish, and they are  concerned about the wildlife who depend on the water.

There no doubt are but you can always tell if a place has one planned by all the protest notices nearby.

Another one:

It was on the local news tonight,  that hundreds of gallons of Sump oil had been tipped down a A14  highway drain near Woodford now,  along with a mountain of rubber tyres!

It has caused a 'waterfall'  of oil draining into nearby woodland, and the River Nene.
This oil  apparently contains toxic ingredients, including Arsenic.

What is wrong with these people?   Why don't they care about killing our wildlife for no reason?
