Scrumpy

Although very rare it is known for a person to change their Accent or Language completely after having a stroke or head injury..

If I could have an accent I wouldn't like one that was  too northern because I would have trouble understanding myself..
I wouldn't mind a soft Irish lilt..
I think I would go for a French accent.. They certainly sound sexy..

What language or accent would you choose. ?
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I think the tone of voice is what I notice, too.
A loud, or piercing voice would soon get on my wick whether it had an accent or not.

Raven

I'd keep my Hebridan brogue, soft and lyrical. :upvote:

Michael Rolls

It's best to talk proper like what I does!
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

I haven't got an accent, but Scrumpy thinks I have    I like all accents apart from North Wales which I hate ! yet South Wales is lovely.

klondike

I've never noticed my accent. I have had people I've met know where I come from. Must be the only place in the country with no accent is all I can assume.

I'm not so keen on the Irish accent,  but don't mind most others.

People also slowly copy people they spend a lot of time talking to. I got a job in Ford Parts IT when they transferred their UK parts depot fron South Ockendon in Esseex to Daventry. My wife moaned that I had started to talk with an Essex accent.

Yes,  I think that can be very true.
I know it used to happen to me when I was younger.
Strange,
isn't it.

Nor me.
Yet a friend from Yorkshire reckons I sound like  a  'proper country bumpkin.'
